Alfred Lagat is an unconventional and progressive finance and governance leader with over 15 years of diverse experience. Currently serving as the CECM for Lands, Physical Planning, Housing, Environment, Water, Natural Resources, and Climate Change in Nandi County, he is also the Managing Partner at Tullon Audit Consulting Ltd, providing expertise in audit, financial advisory, taxation, corporate services, and international tax laws. Previously, Lagat held key positions in the County Government of Nandi, including CECM for Trade, Tourism, Industrialization, and Enterprise Development, and CECM for Finance and Economic Planning, where he was responsible for overseeing strategic financial management and policy formulation. His leadership led to key achievements such as the successful implementation of the County Youth Service Act, improvements in financial reporting, and the formation of two generations of the County Integrated Development Plans (CIDP).
Lagat’s career began with significant roles in the banking and audit sectors, including as an Assistant Manager at Diamond Trust Bank and an Auditor at Deloitte Kenya. His work encompassed risk-based audits, statutory compliance, and financial reporting, with exposure across various sectors such as banking, manufacturing, and healthcare. Alfred holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance from the University of Nairobi, and has enhanced his expertise with certificates in Economics from Tel Aviv University and Finance from Duke University. His comprehensive knowledge of financial management, taxation, public policy, and governance makes him a highly effective leader and advisor in both the public and private sectors.
